DOVER, Del.- Dover police have released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in connection with a late Sunday afternoon home invasion that left an 83-year-old woman injured.

Police said the incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Woodcrest Drive, when an unknown male suspect approached the victim while she was in her garage. According to investigators, the suspect confronted the woman with a small black handgun and forced her into the home, where a brief struggle ensued. Police said the suspect demanded the keys to the victim's vehicle, however the victim did not provide the keys to him. The suspect then forced the victim into her basement while he looked through her personal belongings.

It was initially reported that the suspect fled a short time later without any of the victim's property. However, police said it was later discovered that the suspect stole the victim's credit card and used it at a CVS store located at the corner of Route 8 and Saulsbury Road in Dover. The victim sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.

The suspect is described as black, in his 20s or 30s, average to tall height, dark complexion and wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7111.  You may also submit an anonymous tip with Delaware Crime Stoppers by phone at: 1-800-847-3333 or online at:  http://delaware.crimestoppersweb.com. Potential witnesses would be anyone who may have seen the suspect walking in the Woodcrest development between 1-2:30 p.m. on the day of the incident.
