DOVER, Del.- The Delaware Department of Transportation said it will keep crews on the roads of Kent and New Castle counties Monday night, despite the fact that Delaware did not receive as much snow as expected.

Due to steady precipitation and the prospect of freezing temperatures, DelDOT crews are plowing and spreading salt on secondary and minor roads in New Castle County. In Kent County, trucks and crews are positioned throughout the county, ready to start applying salt as soon as it stops raining or the temperatures drop below freezing.

According to DelDOT, because temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 20 degrees Monday night, there is a significant risk of freezing on the state's roads and bridges.
