Troopers Investigating Fatal Accident

Posted:

MILTON, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal accident north of Milton.

Troopers were called to the scene just after 6 p.m. Friday evening on Cedar Creek Road, south of Isaacs Road.

According to police, Charles E. Moore was driving northbound on Cedar Creek Road at an apparent high rate of speed. Authorities said Moore was driving on a moderate curve when his car began to run off the road.

Investigators said Moore overcorrected which resulted in the car crossing over into the Southbound lanes striking a utility pole. The car spun out, ejecting both Moore and his wife, Ruth A. Moore, from the vehicle. Officials said both were properly restrained.

Charles Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Ruth Moore was transported to Milford Memorial Hospital but later flown to Christiana Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.

Delaware State Police continue to investigate the accident.
