YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's women's lacrosse team was picked to finish seventh in the Capital Athletic Conference Preseason Poll, it was announced via webcast on Thursday afternoon. Picked to win the conference was Salisbury, followed by York (Pa.), Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, St. Mary's, Marymount (Va.) and Frostburg. Ranking just below the Wolverines is a CAC-newcomer Southern Virginia.
Aimee LeClair takes over as the Wesley College head coach in 2014 and inherits a squad that lost ten players from a year ago. Back in the fold for the Wolverines are senior Jorden Lutz, who was an All-Conference performer a year ago, as well as juniors Kaylee Miller and Rylee Gould.
Lutz was one of the Nation's leaders in caused turnovers in 2013 while Gould was second on the squad in assists as a sophomore. Miller has started in every game in her first two seasons on the Dover campus. Also back for Wesley is defender Elizabeth Groom, who sat out the 2013 season but was one of the top defenders on the team two years ago.
The Wolverines open the season on February 28 when they travel to Neumann University for a 4 pm start.
