Resolution Passed to Help Residents Affected by TCE

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Council is moving forward to help residents affected by contaminated well water.

The chemical TCE was found in some private wells in late 2012.

The county said it has developed a plan to hook up all the impacted homes to public water in Fruitland. The resolution, passed Tuesday, said homes in the Morris Mill area needed to be connected immediately to new water lines once they were available.

The council accepted a $1.5 million grant and a low interest loan of $900,000 to go toward constructing the new water lines and a water tower.
