Early Morning Townsend Fire Under Investigation

Updated:

TOWNSEND, Del. - The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a Townsend blaze that injured one person.

The fire, which was reported just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday, occurred on the 200 block of Eaton Drive, Frederick Lodge. The Townsend Fire Company arrived and the house trailer was engulfed in flames.

Investigators say a 56-year-old female resident was taken to the Christiana Care-Middletown Emergency Center for smoke inhalation. She is listed in stable condition.

Fire marshals are currently examining the remains of the structure to determine a cause of the fire.
State Fire Marshals say the damage is estimated at $70,000, which includes damage to a trailer next door to the scene. The American Red Cross provided emergency assistance to the two displaced residents.
