Del. Tattoo Shop Ordered Shut for Safety Reasons

Posted: Updated:

ELSMERE, Del. (AP)- Delaware health officials say a tattoo business in the Elsmere area has been shut down because of concerns about unsterile equipment.

The state Division of Public Health says True Heart, a body art business on Kirkwood Highway, has been forced to close after it was found in violation of state regulations.

Officials say they're contacting the hundreds of customers who have visited the shop since September of last year to encourage them to get medically tested for hepatitis and HIV, which may have been transmitted.

A phone message left at a listing for the business was not immediately returned Saturday.

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- After weeks of discussion, the Maryland Avenue drawbridge in Cambridge will not be scheduled. That's a good news for Gary Smith, a waterman who works out of Cambridge Creek like many others. Smith says the drawbridge blocks the only exit to the creek, and should stay on demand to boaters."Drivers can work around it, but the watermen can't.
