Woman Injured in Rehoboth Beach Parking Lot Robbery

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Police say a 66-year-old woman had to be taken to the hospital after being mugged in the parking lot of the Giant Food supermarket in Rehoboth Beach.

Troopers said that shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, the victim, who is from Lewes, was walking through the parking lot of Giant, located at 19312 Lighthouse Plaza Boulevard, when an unknown suspect approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground.  The suspect then removed the victim's purse and ran from the scene. DSP K9s and aviation searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. 

The victim was treated for her injuries at Beebe Medical Center and released.  The victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the assailant.
