Review of Delaware Cash Management Board Postponed

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Lawmakers were forced to postpone a hearing to review the functionality of a board overseeing Delaware's $2 billion cash portfolio after the board chairman failed to appear for the hearing.

Members of the Joint Sunset Committee convened Wednesday to begin a review of the Cash Management Portfolio Board, which has been the subject of infighting between state treasurer Chip Flowers and other board members.

Flowers had returned a questionnaire that was sent to him and board chairman John Flynn Jr. last fall, but Flynn never returned the questionnaire and failed to attend Wednesday's hearing.

Flowers and Markell administration officials suggested there had been a breakdown in communications and promised to get the committee the information it has requested for consideration at its next meeting, which has yet to be scheduled.
