Sea Gulls Remain at No. 7 in Poll

MINNEAPOLIS– This week's top 25 poll has a shakeup at the top and familiarity for the Salisbury University baseball team, which held its position in the rankings, the organization announced Tuesday.

Salisbury (12-4, 4-2 CAC) remains at No. 7 in the rankings, with 423 points. The Sea Gulls picked up four wins last week, with victories over now-No. 18 Shenandoah University, Albertus Magnus College and a doubleheader sweep over the University of Mary Washington. The Sea Gulls outscored their opponents 66-22 last week.

There is a new team atop the poll this week, as Trinity (Texas) University moves up to the No. 1 spot, just edging out previous-No. 1, Linfield College, who now sits at No. 2. Trinity was awarded 15 first-place votes and 605 points. Linfield picked up two first-place votes more than last week, for a total of nine, and is two points out of the top spot.

The University of Southern Maine remains in the third spot, with the lone remaining first-place vote and 554 points.

The No. 4 and 5 spots remain unchanged from last week, with Kean College holding its place behind Southern Maine, with 542 points. University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point rounds out the top five with 518 points.

The Sea Gulls are scheduled to be in action next this Saturday, March 22, traveling to York, Pa., for a doubleheader against the Spartans. The first game of the twinbill is scheduled for 12 p.m.
