MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Salisbury University baseball team finds itself in the top 10 of another poll, as the American Baseball Coaches Association released its first top 30 poll of the regular season and the Sea Gulls landed at No. 6, the organization announced Tuesday.
Salisbury was ranked No. 12 in the preseason poll and jumped six spots on the strength of a 12-4 start to the year. The Sea Gulls garnered 368 points in the poll, just 10 away from the top five.
Linfield College picked up 474 points and 10 first-place votes to hold the top spots in the poll, followed by Trinity (Texas) University with 461 points and the remaining six first-place votes. Kean University (438 points), the University of Southern Maine (387), and the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point (378) round out the top five.
Salisbury will return to action this Saturday, March 22, traveling to take on York College of Pennsylvania in a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at noon.
