PARKVILLE, Md. (AP)- Baltimore County police say officers fatally shot a Parkville man who threatened them with a knife.
Police say officers called to check on a man at a home on Oakleigh Road on Tuesday afternoon found him outside with a knife, threatening them. The officers retreated, but police say when he continued to come at them with the knife, at least one officer fired, striking the man multiple times.
Police say the man, identified as 21-year-old Ryan Deitrich, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
Police say the officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative duties pending a review.
