Posted: Updated:

ABERDEEN, Md. (AP)- Maryland State Police say officers fatally shot a burglary suspect who rammed several police cars and injured an officer during a pursuit that ended at a rest stop along Interstate 95 in Harford County.

Aberdeen police officers responding to a burglary report at an Aberdeen Target store early Friday spotted a man fleeing. Police say the man refused to stop and rammed his vehicle into a cruiser, injuring an officer.

During a pursuit involving Aberdeen and state police along northbound and southbound I-95, police say the man rammed several cruisers. Police say the pursuit ended when police fired at the man along the southbound I-95 entrance to the Maryland House rest area.

The man was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where police say he was pronounced dead.
