Selection Announced for New Police Chief in Dover

DOVER, Del. (WBOC) - The Dover Police Department announced Tuesday afternoon the choice for its new chief.

Mayor Carelton Carey chose Major Paul Bernat. Bernat has been with the Dover Police Department four 25 years. And he's held the rank of major since 2010.

A date and time for the change of command ceremony is still to be determined. Current Chief Jim Hosfelt's last day is April 4.
