WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Wizards aren't used to playing meaningful games this late in the season, and it's starting to show.
The Wizards are virtually certain to make the playoffs for the first time since 2008, but they're dropped four of their last five to fall to sixth in the Eastern Conference.
Coach Randy Wittman pointed out Thursday that young players such as John Wall and Bradley Beal have never been in this position. The coach says the Wizards are usually thinking of summertime by now.
Says Wittman: "You've got to think differently. Yeah, you're tired and beat up, but we're playing for something more than the summer, so mentally you've got to be stronger."
