Delaware Police Capture Fugitive Wanted in Maryland

DOVER, DE – Police in Delaware say they have captured Edwin Fletcher, wanted for an assault that injured three police officers.

According to police, Fletcher was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening by members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team, in cooperation with Delaware law enforcement. Police say he was arrested without incident at a home in the 200-block of Dundee Road, Dover, Delaware.

Police across Delmarva have been looking for Fletcher since the evening of March 26, 2014, when he fled after ramming a pickup truck into a police car.  Two state troopers and a sheriff's deputy were in the vehicle at the time.  All three were treated for injuries at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and released the next day.

Police were trying to arrest Fletcher on a drug felony warrant in Wicomico County.
