WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) - Police in Waynesboro have arrested a motorist and recovered more than 80 pieces of stolen property from throughout Virginia and Pennsylvania.

An officer determined a car parked in a grocery store lot had been stolen in Georgia. The driver took off and was captured after a police chase.

Police say among the recovered items include two handguns, electronics, prescription medication and purses.

Sgt. Brian Edwards says the smash-and-grab robberies from parked vehicles occurred in Waynesboro, Staunton, Richmond, Fredericksburg, in several counties as well as in Pennsylvania.

Twenty-eight-year-old Duane Martin is charged with grand larceny, felony eluding, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and driving on a suspended license. He's being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.

'Ghost Pots' Hurting Chesapeake Bay's Blue Crab Population

Crabbing season is well underway, and that means hundreds of thousands of crab pots are in the Chesapeake Bay catching blue crabs.

Every morning during crabbing season, you can see watermen gathering up their pots, collecting their catch, and putting the pots back in the water. What you cannot see is the problem: pots that have had their lines severed sit on the bay's bottom, sometimes never seen again, along with the crabs inside them.
