Dewey Beach House Fire Ruled Accidental

DEWEY BEACH, Del.-The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office said that a house fire in Dewey Beach on Wednesday was ruled accidental.

The fire happened around 2:20 p.m. in the unit block of Saulsbury Street. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company, assisted by Lewes and Indian River Fire Companies, put out the flames.

The investigation revealed that the fire was caused by an unspecified electrical malfunction located on the front porch of the single family home.

Investigators said there were people inside of the home at the time of the fire but there were no reported injuries.

Fire damage was estimated at $50,000.
