Fire Marshals Investigating House Fire in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating what sparked a home fire in Cambridge.

According to investigators, the fire started in the first floor boiler room at a home on the 200 block of Mill Street just before 4 p.m. The two-alarm blaze took 50 firefighters about 4 hours to get control of the flames.

Authorities said the fire caused about $175,000  in damages to the structure and contents inside of the home. No injuries were reported but investigators said two dogs in the home died in the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
