Update: Fire Crews Battle Apartment Fire in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Worcester County Fire Marshal is investigating an apartment fire that happened Saturday night in Ocean City.

The Ocean City Fire Department says the call came in around 11:22 p.m. Saturday night for a fire in the 72-hundred block of Coastal Highway. Firefighters say they were able to get the fire under control rather quickly. An initial investigation shows the fire was contained to one apartment unit.

Police say three northbound lanes on Coastal Highway were closed while fire crews worked to put out the blaze and the entire apartment building was evacuated.

The Fire Marshal says no one was injured, but the cause is still under investigation.

The Ocean City Fire Department and Ocean City Police Department responded to the scene.
