Salisbury Man Accused of Shooting Son With Rubber Round

SALISBURY, Md.- Police have arrested a Salisbury man accused of picking up a shotgun and firing a rubber slug at his 20-year-old son, leaving him injured.

Salisbury police said the incident happened at around 11:45 p.m. Saturday at a home on the 100 block of Carrolton Avenue.

According to investigators, 45-year-old Samuel A. Gill was involved in an argument with his son, 20-year-old Zackary Gill. Police said that during the argument, the elder Gill pulled out a shotgun and shot his son once in the thigh with a rubber slug.

Police said Zachary Gill was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment and released. Samuel Gill was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and discharge a firearm in city. He was released on $50,000 bond.
