One Killed, Another Injured in Millsboro Crash

Posted:
MILLSBORO, Del.- Delaware State Police say one woman was killed and another woman was injured in a Tuesday night crash in Millsboro.

Troopers said the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m., as 75-year-old Frances Baskwill drove a 2004 Toyota Matrix south on Banks Road in Millsboro. Police said Baskwill began to turn left toward Friendship Drive when the front of her vehicle collided with the front of a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, which was traveling north on Banks Road.

Troopers said Baskwill and her passenger, 77-year-old Patricia Murphy, also of Millsboro, were both transported by ambulance to Beebe Hospital.

Police said Baskwill suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her lower body and Murphy was pronounced dead shortly after being transported from the crash scene. The driver of the Malibu, 38-year-old John Albright, of Millsboro, was not injured, according to police.

Authorities said all occupants were properly restrained at the time of the crash.

The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into this crash and no charges have been filed.

Banks Road was closed for approximately three hours as troopers investigated and cleared the crash.
