CENTERVILLE, Mass.- ? For the second time in the past two weeks, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball team has had one of its players named Corvias Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week as senior outfielder Byron Campbell (Waldorf, Md.) received the honor earlier this week.
The award is the third for Campbell this week and eighth overall for the Hawks over the past 14 days. Campbell picked up the honor in the Division I South and was one of three recipients in Division I that received the honor from the ECAC. He was also named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Player of the Week and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Campbell hit .591 with over a six-game stretch to lead UMES to a 3-3 record doubleheader split with Lehigh midweek, before going 11-for-16 (.688) with two homers in four games at Delaware State.
