Quick! Deadline to Submit Recipes May 14

Posted: Updated:
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – All chefs are welcome to submit their original recipes for the 7th Annual “Buy Local Cookout” happening in July.

The Maryland Department of Agriculture said the deadline to submit recipes was extended to May 14.

The cookout will be held July 24 from 7-9 p.m. at the Government House in Annapolis.

Recipes must include products from at least one Maryland farmer, waterman, or other producer, according to the department of agriculture.

Officials said the cookout promotes the statewide “Buy Local Challenge Week” happening July 18-27.

Recipes will be chosen in each of the following categories: appetizer, main dish, side dish or salad, dessert and beverage.

Officials said selected teams will be invited to share their dish for the Governor’s cookout.

Complete rules of entry and additional information are posted online at http://mda.maryland.gov/Documents/2014_Recipe_Guidelines.pdf
