DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with last weekend's robbery of Mike's Food Mart on South Governors Avenue in Dover.
On Tuesday, detectives with the Dover Police Department had made arrests into a series of robberies they were investigating. Through a joint investigation with DSP, they determined that Cameron M. Gibbs, of Dover, was the suspect in the Saturday afternoon robbery of Mike's. Police said Gibbs entered the store and presented a demand note to the clerk. Investigators said Gibbs appeared to have a handgun in his pants pocket. The clerk opened a cash register and Gibbs grabbed the money and fled, according to police.
Gibbs turned himself in to the Dover PD on Tuesday. He has also since been formally charged by DSP detectives with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the Mike's robbery. He was ordered held on $40,000 secured bond.
