Woman Charged with DUI After Car Flips Over Twice in Worcester County

BERLIN, Md.- Maryland State Police charge a 43-year-old woman for driving under the influence after her vehicle overturned twice.

Troopers said the single-vehicle accident happened around 9:30 Sunday morning on Route 113, south of Germantown Road.

The driver of the vehicle was Deborah Root of Newark, Md. Police said Root's car left the roadway, continued traveling on the grassy median and then overturned twice.

Root was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for injuries. It was then that police discovered a heavy odor of alcohol on Root. She was charged with a DUI.
