Car Overturns in Wicomico Co.; Mother, Daughter Injured

SALISBURY, Md. - A mother and her daughter were taken to the hospital Saturday night after a serious accident on Route 50 in Wicomico County.

Salisbury Police say it happened around 10:30 p.m. near Tilghman Road.

Police say the vehicle, which witnesses tell WBOC was a type of SUV, overturned on its side and the Salisbury Fire Department had to remove the roof in order to get the two occupants out safely.

Police say both the mother and her daughter were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

As of midnight, police were waiting on the tow truck to remove the vehicle before opening the roadway.  One of the westbound lanes of Route 50 was closed for over an hour.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
