SELBYVILLE, Del.-  Detectives have identified the husband and wife involved the suspected murder and suicide Monday in the Bayview Estates community. They are Edward Watkins Sr., 63, and Robin Watkins, 53. Police say the lived together in Bishopville, Maryland.

Delaware State Police say they responded to the Bayview Estates clubhouse on Sea Gull Road at approximately 5:50 a.m. after troopers received a report of two people lying on the ground in the rear parking lot. Police say troopers arrived to find an unresponsive male and female lying near two vehicles. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a preliminary investigation shows the pair drove separately to the clubhouse sometime during the late evening of May 18. Police say the male shot the female twice and then shot himself. They say a handgun was recovered at the scene.

Both bodies have been turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the official cause of death.
