Fire Damages Home Near Princess Anne

Posted:
PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- Authorities have ruled as accidental a fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a home outside Princess Anne.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred at around 4:37 p.m. Sunday at the one-and-a-half story single family home located at 30019 Mt. Vernon Road.

Thirty firefighters from the Princess Anne, Mt. Vernon, Deal Island and Crisfield fire companies responded to the blaze and got it quickly under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to the structure.

Investigators determined the fire started in the attic and was due to an electrical malfunction with the attic's fan.
