Woman Charged with DUI After Collision in Worcester Co.

BERLIN, Md.- Maryland State Police say a woman was driving under the influence when her vehicle struck the center of a median early this morning.

Troopers said the single-vehicle collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on St. Martins Neck Road.

According to police, 38-year-old Brandi Nicole Mellinger, of Berlin, was traveling westbound along Route 90 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a median. Troopers said Mellinger was not injured during the collision.

Police said Mellinger was arrested when she failed standardized field sobriety tests. She was taken to the Ocean City Police Department, where she submitted to another breath test.

Troopers said Mellinger's blood alcohol concentration was 0.23. Mellinger was subsequently charged with  the collision incident and the DUI.
