Posted:
QUEEN ANNE,Md.- State and local officials will soon break ground on another phase of the MD 404 widening project.

Maryland transportation officials will hold a groundbreaking ceremony, at the Maryland National Guard Armory Wednesday morning.

Officials said the phase includes $20.8 million in construction funds to widen Queen Anne Highway from two to four lanes. The addition will include a median separation and safety enhancements. The change will take place west of MD 309, near Main Street in Queen Anne, to east of Tuckahoe Creek, which is a distance of 1.5 miles.

Officials said the $39 million dollar widening project will improve safety for thousands of travelers and local residents.

The upgrade will be completed in phases as funding becomes available, according to state transportation officials.
