Salisbury Man Sought for Attempted Murder

SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities say a 63-year-old Salisbury man is wanted for attempted first-degree murder following an early Wednesday shooting that put a woman in the hospital.

Salisbury police said that just before 3:30 a.m., the 23-year-old victim was shot once in the buttocks while she was walking on the 800 block of West Main Street. She was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition. 

Police said that during the course of the investigation, Robert Hawkins Johnson Jr. was identified as the suspect. Johnson - who is currently wanted - should be considered armed and dangerous, according to investigators.

Police described Johnson as 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds. His last known address is 314 Penn St.
 
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at (410) 548-3165 or Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776. Crime Solvers will pay up to $1,000 for tips that lead to the arrest.
