Woman Arrested for Prescription Fraud in Milford

MILFORD, Del.- Police have arrested a Philadelphia woman accused of passing a forged prescription at a Milford pharmacy.

Milford police said 25-year-old Jennifer Freeman attempted to fill a prescription at the Rite Aid at around 5 p.m. Tuesday when employees noticed a problem with it. The pharmacy refused to fill it and notified police who arrived and confronted Freeman, authorities said.

Investigators said Freeman, who initially provided officers with a false name, was found to have a small amount of marijuana on her. Police said  said they also obtained information that another individual was involved, and will investigate further.

Freeman was charged with attempting to obtain a controlled substance, second-degree forgery, second-degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal impersonation.

Freeman was ordered held on $6,000 bail in the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Facility.
