Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Creating New Position

Updated:

SALISBURY, Md.- The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is shutting down one position and creating a new one this June.

The SACC board of directors has given a full vote of approval to eliminate the position of director of finance & administration as part of their effort to adapt to their new strategy, according to SACC CEO Ernie Colburn.

“Over the last few years the chamber of commerce has been realigned into five divisions,” said Colburn. “Under this structure, the director of finance and administration position is not conducive to our revised plan.”

While one position is being dropped, another is being added. The SACC is creating the position of chief operating officer.

“The COO would be a position as a succession to the CEO position,” Colburn said. “This is important because this is the first time in history there will be a succession position to the CEO set up at the chamber.”

An ad-hoc committee will review applicants and recommend them to the board of directors, according to Colburn.
