MARYDEL, Del.- Delaware State Police say two men are dead following a weekend head-on crash in Marydel.

Police said 27-year-old Estanislao Lopez-Berduo, of Marydel, was traveling west on Halltown Road shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday when his Ford Escort crossed into the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons. The car crashed head-on with a Pontiac Sunfire driven by 18-year-old Zachary Rogers, also of Marydel.

Both men sustained traumatic injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Two female passengers in the car driven by Rogers, identfied as 17-year-old Avianna Walker-Lane and 19-year-old Mikeshia A. Stewart, both of Dover, were taken to Christiania Hospital Trauma Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash on the part of Lopez-Berduo.

Halltown Road was closed for about three hours Saturday night while the crash was investigated and cleared.
