Police Arrest Sussex County Woman for Offering Sex to Undercover Cop

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Police have arrested a 29-year-old Georgetown woman for offering sex for money to an undercover cop.

It happened Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. on DuPont Highway just north of North Bedford Street. Georgetown Police said they received a tip that Amy Jean Taylor was soliciting prostitution.

An undercover officer texted Taylor and the two arranged a time to meet at the Classic Motel. Police said through texts, Taylor and the officer set up a deal for sexual acts in exchange for money.

Taylor texted the undercover officer when she was walking on DuPont Highway with Deborah Wells, 44, also of Georgetown. Police spotted the two and took them both into custody .Taylor was charged with prostitution and released on a criminal summons with a future court date.

Wells, who was wanted on several warrants , was transported to the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas and released with new arraignment dates.
