SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury drug dealer was sentenced to 10 years in prison following an incident in which police found a bag of cocaine in his buttocks.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matt Maciarello said Shamar Ralee Cropper, 23, was convicted on one count of possession with the intent to distribute heroin and one count of possession of cocaine.

According to the state’s attorney’s office, Cropper was caught during a traffic stop. He was a passenger in the car.

Police suspected criminal activity and had a K-9 sniff the car. The dog detected the smell of drugs and police found cocaine, a syringe, and a pipe.

Officials said Cropper, the driver, and another passenger were arrested for the recovered items. After they were taken to police barracks for processing, Cropper struggled with officers attempting to search him.

Cropper was eventually restrained and searched. That is when police found a plastic baggie in the cheeks of his buttocks.

Police said the plastic bag contained another plastic bag, which in turn contained 16 different bags filled with heroin, a bag of cocaine, and a bag of oxycodone.
