SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury woman will serve six years in prison following her conviction Monday of possession with intent to distribution oxycodone.

Loretta Lee Phillips, 36, appeared in Wicomico County Circuit Court where a judge sentenced her to 15 years in the Maryland Division of Corrections, with all but six years suspended.

Prosecutors said the charges against Phillips stemmed from her arrest on Dec. 4, 2013, when she was stopped by Maryland State Police for a traffic violation. Troopers found oxycodone (15mg and 30mg) and $371 in cash concealed within her purse, according to prosecutors. They said further investigation revealed that Phillips’ cellphone contained numerous text messages pertaining to the illegal sale of oxycodone.
