NEW YORK, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Stream SDK, a powerful set of tools that will drastically improve and simplify in-app sharing and community engagement for developers and their users, was released today. Stream SDK enables developers to build advanced social features into their apps with minimal effort, opening up a world of possibility for interaction between users that were previously siloed from one another.
Stream SDK comes from the creators of Stream Web, a new mobile browser released earlier this year which harnesses the power of Stream to be used across the entire web. Stream allows users to "cut out" anything on the screen to save or share to social media, email or SMS. The "clip" serves as a link back to the source content, creating beautiful visual links in place of dull text URLs.
In addition to improved sharing functionality, Stream also allows end users to revisit their clips at any time in their own Stream - a collection of visual bookmarks. Developers can also add a community Stream - a crowd-sourced feed of what everyone is sharing in real time. The result is a local anonymous social network comprised of user-curated content from that particular app.
Stream SDK is already used in almost 1,000 apps across iOS and Android, including apps by media giants such as Conde Nast, Forbes, USA Today, and hundreds of others. Today, Stream SDK becomes available to the general developer community so that all apps can take advantage of its powerful technology. There is also an analytics dashboard that provides developers with insight into how their users share and discover content.
"The biggest thing that's missing from most apps is true social interaction,'" says Paul Canetti, Founder and CEO. "You have these users that have no way to communicate or connect with one another, despite the fact that they're all using the same app. Stream allows for instant community building by allowing users to pass content back and forth inside the app. The results have been astonishing."

MAZ (mazdigital.com, streamapp.co), an NYC-based startup founded in 2010 by former Apple and Adobe designers and engineers, is revolutionizing the way people share and consume content on mobile. Their signature social product, Stream, allows anyone to "cut out" anything on the screen to share or save it. Stream is available in apps published by Forbes, The Economist, Star and hundreds more, Stream Web, a new gesture-based mobile browser, and Stream SDK, a new set of developer tools to build Stream into any app.
