Family Looking for Help with Funeral Arrangements

Posted:
SALISBURY, Md. -  The family of 25-year-old Rodney Stevenson, Jr. is looking for some monetary assistance with the funeral arrangements for their loved one.  Stevenson was found Monday morning in the east prong of the Wicomico River that runs through the Salisbury City Park.  Preliminary reports indicate Stevenson drowned.

Stevenson's sister, Chimere Stevenson said it is still hard to believe the man who was so nice to everyone is gone.

"Everybody that knew him, he was, you know, very warm hearted.  If he didn't know you, he would still, you know, give you a little wave.  He loved to give out hugs," Stevenson said.

And Chimere Stevenson went on to say that Rodney's ability to cheer everyone up around him will be missed the most."

"His personality, it's just not the same.  It will never be the same without him," Stevenson said.

Chimere Stevenson said her family is in need of some help in affording a proper burial for Rodney and has set-up an online fundraiser where anyone interested in helping can donate a few dollars.

"If possible, you know, if anybody could help with assistance with the funeral arrangements so that we can give him a proper burial and allow the family to say our final goodbyes, and whatnot," Stevenson said.
