Truck Catches Fire on US 113


GEORGETOWN, Del. - A flatbed truck broke out in flames while driving on US 113.

It happened at noon on Monday near Deer Forest Road.

Delaware State Police said a 61-year-old Centreville, Md. man was driving a 2006 Peterbilt flatbed truck carrying lumber when he smelled smoke. Police said he pulled over and saw the cab on fire.

Police said the fire was mainly in the cab portion of the truck. The driver escaped uninjured.

According to police, traffic was affected for one hour as fire crews responded to the scene and put out the fire.
