GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Salisbury University women's lacrosse Head Coach Jim Nestor was named the IWLCA's National Division III Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association after piloting his team to become one of the best in the nation.

In the past 13 seasons, Nestor has finished off back-to-back national championships and claimed the third title in program history which has helped name him the IWLCA's National Division III Coach of the Year.

This award marks Nestor's fourth national award along with 2005 and the national championship campaigns of 2010, 2013, and 2014. Nestor, who was also named the Division III Chesapeake Region Coach of the Year on Monday, has earned that moniker 10 times.

Nestor has been named the regional coach of the year in each of the past eight seasons (2004-05, 2007-14).

Among the many accomplishments during the 2014 season, the Sea Gulls established the longest regular-season conference winning streak in Division III history, reaching 78 games. The Sea Gulls will look to extend this run in 2015.

This season, Salisbury earned its ninth and 10th national position player of the year awards, with senior Ashton Wheatley collecting her third-straight Goalkeeper of the Year honor, and junior Bethany Baer claiming the Midfielder of the Year award. Three Sea Gulls were named first-team All-Americans, and six earned All-Region honors.

The program earned its 14th overall and 12th-straight Capital Athletic Conference title, on its way to the national championship.

Nestor has compiled a 244-25 record over 13 years at Salisbury for a .907 winning percentage in that time, taking the program to the NCAA tournament in each of the past 12 seasons.
