Woman Run Over and Killed in Dover

DOVER, Del.- Dover police are conducting an investigation after a 28-year-old woman attempting to cross an intersection was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Police said that shortly before 4 a.m. Monday, the victim was attempting to cross the intersection of US 13 and Webbs Lane in an eastbound direction when she was run over by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on US 13. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld pending notification of family, police said.

According to the police, the initial investigation leads them to believe the driver had a green light. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.

The Dover Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the crash and ask anyone with any information about it to call (302) 736-7111.
