LAUREL, Del. – The Laurel Police Department arrested an inmate from the Sussex Community Corrections Center last weekend after he failed to return from an approved release in April.

Keith Lofland, 38, of Lincoln, Del., was taken into custody Saturday at a home on Center Street, according to Laurel Police Chief Michael Wilson.

“He was in a residence,” Wilson says. “We were there to obtain evidence and he just happened to be there.”

Police are holding Lofland at the Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown, officials say. Lofland is currently serving jail time for third-degree burglary.
