Data Centers LLC Considers Other Sites for Facility

Posted: Updated:

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Data Centers LLC hasn't given up on plans for a data-processing and power generating facility in Newark, but it's exploring other potential sites.

The company is still considering the former Chrysler land in Newark.

TDC spokesman Ken Grant says the concept has generated a lot of interest among investors and among different cities across the country and locally.

TDC is headquartered in West Chester, Pa. The company wants to build a 900,000-square-foot data center complex, which would be supported by a 279-megawatt on-site power plant at the former Chrysler site.

A university working group appointed last fall is working on a report on TDC's proposal. The report is expected to be submitted within the next month.
