The Delmarva Shorebirds lost to the Kannapolis Intimidators 5-2 in Tuesday night's away game.
KANNAPOLIS, N.C.– The Delmarva Shorebirds lost to the Kannapolis Intimidators Tuesday night 5-2.
Both teams had a strong start in the first inning, each scoring one run.
On the first bat, Lucas Herbst made it to second base, and eventually third base, before making the run to home, according to the Shorebirds. At the bottom of the first, the Intimidators tied the game with an RBI and then took the lead in the second inning.
By the third inning, the Shorebirds tied the game 2-2, but the Intimidators would get three more runs before the game ended, according to officials.
In the fourth inning, Jeremy Dowdy hit his first home run, bringing Kannapolis ahead.
The Intimidators got one run in each the fifth and eigthth innings, finishing off the game.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at Kannapolis.
