FEDERALSBURG, Md.- Federalsburg Mayor William Beall, who sustained a major heart attack last Wednesday, has made what town officials have described as "excellent progress" and has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.

Officials said Beall's release from the hospital is pending doctors’ orders. They said the mayor is very appreciative of all the well wishes, cards and flowers that he has received during this time. His wife Madeline is also very grateful to everyone for their concern and support, officials said.

Beall may not receive telephone calls or visitors at this time, officials said. Cards may be sent to 306 South Main Street, Federalsburg, MD, 21632.
