Posted: Updated:
BISHOPVILLE, Md.- Maryland State Police say a Berlin man died following a Tuesday morning crash on Route 90 in Worcester County.

The accident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. on westbound Route 90 at Ocean Parkway. Troopers from the MSP Berlin barrack said that when they arrived on the scene, they found a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup had struck a tree. Investigators said the driver, identified as 31-year-old Christopher Patrick Doyle, of Teal Circle in Berlin, was still inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by Ocean Pines EMS.

According to police, an investigation revealed that Doyle was not restrained by a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the pickup having struck the tree.

Westbound Route 90 was closed until approximately 9 a.m. when it was reopened for normal traffic operations.

The investigation into the crash continues.
