Update: Roads Reopened Following Gas Leak on Route 13

Posted: Updated:
SEAFORD, Del.- A natural gas leak resulted in road closures and tied up traffic on Route 13 in Seaford on Tuesday afternoon.

City officials said the leak forced road closures on southbound Route 13 and nearby Herring Run Road between Route 13 and eastbound Route 13A. Motorists were being detoured around the scene.

The nearby Walgreens pharmacy was evacuated as a safety precaution, police said.

Chesapeake Utilities responded to the scene and were working on repairing the leak, officials said.

Roads were reopened later Tuesday afternoon. There were no reported injuries.
