Dover Man Shot Last Month Dies of Injuries

DOVER, Del.– Delaware State Police say a Dover man, who was shot multiple times last month outside an apartment complex on Webb Lane, has died from his injuries.

Troopers said Christopher A. Gillis, 26, was standing outside the Alder Park Apartments in the area of the DD building at 51 Webbs Lane on June 7, when an unknown male suspect approached him fired several rounds at him with a handgun, striking him twice in his lower body. The suspect then fled the scene.

Gillis was initially taken to Kent General Hospital before being transferred to Christiana Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries on June 30, police said. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled the manner and cause of death to be homicide by gunshot wound.
